  • RINA Independent Engineering Expert Report - December 2022

    This report reviews the Railway Order Application (especially the Environmental Impact Assessment Report) for the Dublin MetroLink project. It is the second formal output of a team of Independent Engineering Experts commissioned in September 2021 by TII, on behalf of residents' groups and associations and other non-commercial stakeholders with interests in the effects of the MetroLink scheme. The concept of the Independent Engineering Expert was based on the earlier innovation pioneered on the Old Metro North project in 2008-2011.

  • Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) Guide - 2022

    Following the commencement of the Railway Order, Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) may initiate the compulsory acquisition process. Given the scale of the project, there are a number of public and privately owned properties that will be impacted where the acquisition, whether in whole or in part, will be necessary. TII is authorised to acquire any rights in, under or over land or any substratum of land specified in the Railway Order.

  • Land Acquisition Strategy 2022

    MetroLink will require the acquisition of numerous land and property interests in both public and private ownership including a range of residential and commercial properties that are occupied. A key aspect of this Strategy, however, is the early engagement with affected persons prior to confirmation of the RO and service of a notice to treat in an effort to assess the full needs of affected persons, consider their individual circumstances and, if possible, reach a conditional pre-agreement.

  • Alignment Options (Study 1) 2018

    The objective of the Alignment Options study was to carry out a comprehensive and robust route option selection process to identify an emerging preferred route for the section of the MetroLink serving the Swords to Dublin City Centre transport corridor. A total of 34 feasible routes were identified over the length of the corridor. Following an initial assessment, ten of these routes were selected for further detailed assessment following which a single option was identified as the Emerging Preferred Route.

  • Green Line Tie-in Study (Study 2) 2018

    The objective of the Luas Green Line Tie-in Study was to identify the preferred location for the future tie-in of MetroLink to the existing Luas Green Line. The study identified ten, possible tie-in locations on the existing Green Line between St. Stephen’s Green and Milltown. Following detailed assessment, the preferred tie-in location was identified. The preferred tie-in is located immediately south of Charlemont Luas Stop on Grand Parade in Dublin 6.
