Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has taken another major step toward the physical delivery of MetroLink with the formal award of the Programme Delivery Partner (PDP) Support Services contract to Jacobs AECOM.
Following a highly competitive procurement process, the newly appointed Programme Delivery Partner Jacobs AECOM will integrate directly with the MetroLink team to manage, oversee, and coordinate the complex construction, integration, and commissioning phases of Ireland’s first metro system. The PDP is crucial in ensuring that all aspects of the MetroLink project are delivered within a defined budget, required timeframe, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
The Programme Delivery Partner will play a vital role in executing the delivery of the 19km high-capacity, high-frequency line. Spanning from Swords to Charlemont, MetroLink will serve 16 new stations, providing a 25-minute journey time from North Dublin to the city centre. Minister for Transport, Darragh O'Brien said the appointment of the Programme Delivery Partner demonstrates the continued progress being made in delivering one of the most important infrastructure investments in the history of the State.
"This Government is committed to transforming Ireland's public transport network through sustained investment in high-quality, sustainable infrastructure," he said.
"The Programme Delivery Partner will be an essential component in providing construction and engineering oversight, helping to ensure that MetroLink is delivered efficiently, safely and in line with international best practice," the Minister added.
Anne Shaw, CEO of the National Transport Authority (NTA) welcomed the appointment of the PDP for MetroLink, saying it represents a further important milestone in the delivery of this transformative programme. "By bringing together world-class expertise and experience, the Programme Delivery Partner will play a critical role in supporting the effective planning, design, and delivery of a modern, high-capacity public transport system that will serve our communities for generations to come," she said.

Once completed, MetroLink will carry up to 53 million passengers annually, acting as a crucial integrator for Dublin’s wider transport network by offering seamless interchanges with Irish Rail, DART, Luas, and Bus.
